  • Campsites – Facilities/Value: n/a
    (Didn’t stay at any)

(Lots to choose from in Sarajevo but quite pricey. Outside Sarajevo, the hotels we stayed in were more reasonably priced but rooms can be quite basic, if not dire.)

(not great if you are a vege… it’s all about grilled meats, roasted meats, fried meats… you get the idea)
  • People: 7
  • Cost: 8
  • Scenery: 8
(Bosnia is a hilly country, so scenery is lovely in a lot of places but it is ruined somewhat by all the filth and rubbish)

Overall: 7.2

General tips:

  • Private guesthouses are great value – lookout for “SOBE” (”rooms”) signs
  • Pekaras (bakeries) have a great selection of pastries that are fantastic for lunch or snacks
  • Wild camping not recommended – there are still areas that have not been cleared of mines
